What to know about New Zealand’s must-do forest adventure
Whether you’re a zipline novice or a well-versed adrenaline junkie, our experienced guides will take care of you every step of the way.
Check your tour time: group departures start in the morning and continue throughout the day.
We supply all the mandatory safety equipment including a helmet, harness, and climbing equipment.
Covered shoes are a must for your tree walk and zipline in Rotorua. Please also wear comfortable clothing that suits the weather conditions. We provide additional warm and wet weather gear if needed.
All you need to take into the forest is yourself. Our guides will take pictures of you during the tour, which are free to download and share. You can also hire our Action Cameras to capture every exhilarating moment. If you bring your own devices, keep ‘em close!
Please don’t bring food or water. We have as minimal an impact as possible, so fuel up at one of the best cafes in Rotorua before you arrive so you can enjoy the tour without a grumbling belly. Your guide will bring water for you.

Before you arrive at Rotorua Canopy Tours
We have set tour times and limited spaces on each departure, so it is best to pre-book your experience. We ask for payments to be made when booking.
You must complete a Health and Safety check-in form before the experience, which we will email to your group organiser.
On the day of your tour
Check in at the Canopy Tours base at 147 Fairy Springs Road, Rotorua. We have a small parking lot, which is monitored by our team. Please leave valuables in your vehicles or in the secure luggage containers at our base so they are not damaged or lost.
Our Customer Experience Team will greet you when you enter the front doors, and gather any last bits and pieces we may need before your forest zipline experience begins.
This is your last flushing toilet, so make the most of it!
During check-in, we discretely weigh each guest to ensure everyone is within our weight limit. Please do not be offended; your safety is our absolute priority. We have a 120kg weight limit for both experiences.

Get familiar with the other guests in your group and your friendly guides. We love a good chin wag, so feel free to tell us about yourself or ask us about the best things to do in Rotorua while we get you geared up and ready for the tour.

Weather in Rotorua’s forest
Unsure what to do in Rotorua when it rains? Good news: Canopy Tours operates in almost all weather conditions, and it’s incredible in the rain!
High winds, thunder, and lightning can affect tours and Rotorua Canopy Tours reserves the right to cancel any tour due to weather conditions, hazard identification, and events beyond our control that will interfere with the safe operation of the experience.
If weather conditions cause a change to your tour time, we will contact you as soon as possible. We will offer you the option to: delay your departure if the weather looks set to improve; re-book for another date; receive a voucher to enjoy the tour another time; or get a full refund.
ROTORUA CANOPY TOURS CANCELLATION POLICY
Changes to your zipline and canopy tour booking more than 24 hours prior to your tour departure time will not incur any charges. Changes within 24 hours of your tour may incur a fee, but we will do our best to avoid this.
Please call us if you need to make changes or cancel your booking. If you fail to arrive for your check-in without communication, a full cancellation charge of your total booking value will apply.
GIFT VOUCHERS
Gift Vouchers are not redeemable for cash and are valid for 12 months from the purchase date unless otherwise stated on the voucher.
PRICING
All pricing, including relevant taxes, are displayed and charged in New Zealand dollars. Rotorua Canopy Tours reserves the right to alter published prices at any time. The child price applies to children aged 15 and under.
PHOTOS & VIDEO
Customer photos taken by our guides on tour will be provided to guests free of charge. Guides will take pictures to the best of their ability, but many factors can affect photo quality, including lighting and weather conditions, so we cannot guarantee the quality of these images.
Rotorua Canopy Tours reserves the right to use any recording and images for promotional purposes without reward. Please speak to one of our team if you are uncomfortable having your pictures taken.
